CII organised the first session of the "Online Master Class Series" module on "Understanding Fundamentals of Finance for MSMEs" on 12 March 2013. Mr A Anil Kumar, Director, Zenomic Management Consultants was the faculty. The topics on 'Understanding Business' and 'the business model and key financial terms' were discussed in this session.

CII organised the first session of the Online Master Classes on Total Employee Involvement on 18 April 2013. Mr C Balasubramanyan, Team Leader – Advanced Glass Solutions Business & World, Saint - Gobain Glass India Ltd was the faculty. The session focussed on the Change Management Process in Organization across the various sectors. It emphasised the need for “change for better cultures” on a continuous basis. Total Employee Involvement is a two-way social exchange among Employees rather than the imposing of ideas. It uses the creativity of all employees and social processes by which people become self-involved.

CII organised an online Master Class (OMC) webinar on 'Factoring for MSMEs' on 25 March. Mr Rakesh Kapoor, MD, IFCI Factors Ltd was the expert faculty.The objective of this session was to review, understand and analyse the factoring services for the MSMEs, as also to assist them to explore factoring as an opportunity to address the issue of Delayed Payments. CII organised the "CII Online Master Class on Effective Management of HR Statutory Compliances" on 15 March 2013. Effective management of HR statutory compliances is an integral constituent of corporate governance, demands an in-depth understanding of labour legislations. As labour and employment figures in the concurrent list, India’s complex web of legislations, revolve around 50 central and 200 state enacted legislations and these are periodically being amended to suit to emerging labour and employment landscapes. Manufacturing: 5S
CII organised an Online Master Class on 5S on 8 March 2013. Mr Ravinder Kumar, Senior Counselor, CII-AVANTHA Centre for Competitiveness was the resource person. The Master Class discussed on the meaning of 5S and its methodologies. 5S is a philosophy and a way of organizing and managing the workspace and work flow with the intent to improve efficiency by eliminating waste. The key targets of 5S are workplace morale and efficiency. Senior and middle level managers, Project Engineers, Quality Assurance Managers, Maintenance Personnel and Engineers associated with R&D, Production, Operation and Maintenance functional domiains of diverse industry sectors were the key audience.

CII has organised an Online Master Class on Direct Taxes on 8 March 2013. Mr VP Manikandan, Senior Manager, Tax & Regulatory Practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers has spoken on the subject. This Master Class intends to provide clarity about computing Direct Taxes by discussing the overview of the case laws and their judgments. The Direct Tax Code was designed to provide stability in the tax regime and it is based on well accepted principles of taxation and best international practices. An attempt has been made to avoid ambiguity in the provisions that invariably give rise to rival interpretations. CII and Employability Bridge were excited to kickoff the first FLAG event for calendar year 2013 with the objective of dramatically improving employment for Graduates from Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities. Cold Chain Summit 2012
The Cold Chain Summit 2012 was organized by CII on 29-30 August, 2012 at New Delhi. At the inaugural of the 4th Cold Chain Summit 2012, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Dr. Saumitra Chaudhuri, Member Planning Commission invited as the Chief Guest, pointed out that there are multiple challenges in developing the cold chain sector and hence there doesn’t exist one single solution. Union Budget 2012-13
Proceedings & Summary of the Budget Viewing Session organised by CII in Delhi on 17 March 2012. Commenting on the Budget presented by the Finance Minister, CII President Mr. Muthuraman said that the Budget had many growth oriented measures and has also made efforts towards fiscal consolidation. In particular, the timely focus on the infrastructure sector is welcome. An area of concern for industry is the increase in excise duty and service tax from 10% to 12%. At a time when industry is already facing huge increases in input cost, this will further add to the burden. An appropriate theme was “Sharpening India’s Sea Vision” to coincide with the Maritime Agenda 2010 – 2020 released by the Union Minister of Shipping, Mr G K Vasan on January 13, 2011.
