CEOs from national and international companies, Union Ministers representing various industrial sectors and Senior Officials from the Government of India are expected to participate in the first ever Global Business Connect Programme to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 12th September 2012 at Hotel Le-Meridian, Kochi, Kerala.
The Government of Kerala is hosting this Global Business event, titled – “Emerging Kerala 2012” under the leadership and guidance of Mr Oommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries and Information Technology, Government of Kerala and Mr K M Chandrasekhar, Vice Chairman, Kerala State Planning Board. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is the industry partner to the Government of Kerala towards organisation of this event.
Objective of this Global Connect Initiative is to bring all stakeholders who are prime drivers of economy to engage in policy dialogues with the Government towards formulating a collective vision as well as to facilitate business to business linkages to enable growth. The event would also make Kerala a premier global hub of economic activity, which could leverage its inherent strengths, resulting in equitable socio-economic growth.
The Policy Dialogue Sessions and Sectoral Conferences would focus on emerging sectors such as IT & ITeS, Tourism, Food & Agro Processing, Knowledge & Education, Healthcare, Energy Including Green Energy & Environmental Technologies, Science & Technology: Biotechnology, Nanotechnology & Life Sciences, Infrastructure Development, Defence Production, Ports, Shipbuilding & Logistics, MSMEs & Skills & Financial Services. During the event, the Government of Kerala would be showcasing various investment opportunities for industry in the State.

Registration for Emerging Kerala 2012 will be only through invitation.
