“Ozhimayam,” – The Start-up contest is first of its kind event aimed at identifying and showcasing aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs from south Tamil Nadu. The first edition of “OzhiMayam” is organized by Confederation of Indian Industry and Young Indians (Salem Chapter).
“OzhiMayam” is a business plan competition for college students and early stage entrepreneurs who have a business idea or venture in mind. The Contest encourages plans for new businesses, as well as from early stage companies.
Entrepreneurship is the buzz word today. The organizers came up with this contest to promote innovative ideas and also support them with mentoring and much needed funding support. So if you wish to be an entrepreneur or if you are already a start-up founder, this is an amazing opportunity for you. CII-Yi invites you to submit a business plan of your idea / venture. Our expert team comprising of senior entrepreneurs, experts and investors are eagerly waiting to meet budding business minds through “OzhiMayam”. Are you ready???

The logo of the “OzhiMayam” was launched at Periyar University, today. Dr C Swaminathan, Vice Chancellor, Periyar University, Salem; Mr KMS Rajesh Kumar, Chairman, CII Salem; Mr P Vimalan, Vice-Chairman, CII Salem; Mr V Aravinthan, Chair-Yi Salem Chapter; Mr Yatin B Shah, Co-Chair, Yi Salem Chapter; Mr V Sudhakar, Project Coordinator - OzhiMayam, Co-Convenor, Entrepreneurship Panel, CII Salem jointly released the logo.
Objective
The primary objective of the contest is to identify mainstream entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and informing them of opportunities and investors, apart from connecting them to the right resources. The contest for students is to give them an experience in innovation and entrepreneurship and their ideas will be appropriately awarded with a citation and prize money. The program aims at enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tamil Nadu and also introduces the students to take up the culture of entrepreneurship.
The contest is being organized as two parallel streams and applications will be accepted both from serious mainstream entrepreneurs and students and processed separately. The entries can be submitted at www.ozhimayam.com from 22 December 2015 onwards and the last date for submission of the entries will be 30 January 2016.
