Session on Free State of Bavaria

The objective of this session is to brief the Indian industries about the business opportunities in Bavaria. “Invest in Bavaria” is the Business Promotion Agency of the State of Bavaria and offers companies from India a host of services through all stages of setting up a business establishment in the state, from the planning phase, to the search for and selection of a location, to final implementation.
Invest in Bavaria, the Indian representative office of the State of Bavaria started it’s operations in Bangalore in 2001 and since then it has assisted more than 90 Indian companies to start their business operations in Bavaria, to explore and expand their business in the German/European market.
While Germany is the engine of growth in the EU, the Federal State of Bavaria continues to enjoy the reputation of being best among the lot, be it in the robustness of its SDP, the extent of its industrialization, its leading position as a place of innovations or the most sought-after hub for the knowledge industry including ICT, AI, IoT and Automation. It is making rapid strides in achieving the goal of a Digital Bavaria, with emphasis on implementation of Industry 4.0.
Bavaria is home not only to global players such as ADIDAS, ALLIANZ, AUDI, BMW, MTU Aero Engines, MAN and SIEMENS, but also to a strong presence of small and medium-sized businesses in industry, trades and the service sector. As the most important gateway to the vast European market, with world-class infrastructure (rail, road, and air connectivity, high-speed telecommunication facilities, outstanding research institutions and high-tech clusters spread across the state), Bavaria offers excellent opportunities to Indian companies to explore forging strategic cooperation with the large number of small and medium scale companies in Bavaria (of whom several are the so called ‘hidden champions’). The Indian diaspora of highly qualified technocrats working in Bavaria already accounts for about 15000.
