It is an acknowledged fact that Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) lack an incentive to grow. Too many of them do not grow because of the fear of losing the benefits associated with staying small or medium. Hence, the proposal that the benefits or preferences enjoyed by them will stay with them for upto three years after they grow out of the category in which they obtained the benefit, will provide a fillip to their growth ambitions, at the same time providing them the security of availing the benefits of remaining small. The benefits to begin with, will be the non-tax benefits, that will be made available to a MSME unit for three years after it graduates to a higher category.
