CII Industrial Expo 2016 Inaugurated by ED BHEL Haridwar : CII Industrial Expo 2016 brings in latest technologies to industry, helps industry explore partnerships for business development and competitiveness

CII Industrial Expo 2016 was inaugurated by Mr Prakash Chand, Executive Director (HEEP), BHEL Haridwar at Haridwar today. Addressing the senior industry representatives present on the occasion Mr Chand emphasized that Uttarakhand has witnessed industry led growth, with manufacturing playing a key role. He added that while the creation of the large manufacturing hub in the state was catalyzed by the fiscal incentives, the state policies, the world class industrial infrastructure and favorable power and IR scenarios also made Uttarakhand an attractive investment destination. Lauding the state government’s initiatives on Ease of Doing Business which has led to the state’s ranking improve to 9 from 23 rd last year , the Ease of Doing Business Rankings of Indian States prepared by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), GoI, Mr Chand urged the state to be more aggressive in terms of attracting further industry.

Sharing the highlights of the event, Mr Suresh Redhu Chairman CII Industrial State Council elaborated that the event comprises of an exhibition spread over 5000 square meters, with about 150 exhibitors from 15 states, including Uttarakhand. Highlighting the other components of the exhibition, he said that multiple sessions focused on business development and new technologies would be organized during the course of four days of the event. These include a Buyer Seller Meet by some of the units of Indian Railways and a Session on Industry 4: Smart Manufacturing. In addition more than 30 potential buyer delegations from industry are expected to visit the exposition to explore procurement opportunities.

Dwelling upon the journey of CII Industrial Expo, Mr Redhu said that said that given the importance of the manufacturing sector it is necessary to create an environment in the state where the sector continues to thrive. The CII Industrial Expo aims to make a contribution in this task by providing multiple opportunities to industry in terms of exploring new supply chain partnerships, business opportunities and also new technologies. CII Industrial Expo was conceptualised in 2011, based on the expressed need of the industry for creating a platform wherein the new industrial units setting up operations in the state could connect with local vendor and suppliers. Since then we have held three editions, and the event has emerged as Uttarakhand’s Premier Biennial B2B Industrial Show. The show attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the country and has emerged as the largest manufacturing based exposition in the state.

Proposing a formal Vote of Thanks, Mr Vikas Garg, Vice Chairman CII Uttarakhand State Council,  said that through events like Industrial Expo, CII aims to broad-base the industrial development of the State, foster partnerships and promotes sharing of best practices.

Industry captains from the state including Mr Sandeep Jain, Past Chair CII Uttarahand and heads of leading industries like BHEL, ITC, HUL, Hero MotoCorp, Napino Auto, Minda Corporation, Honeywell, Haridwar Natural Gas, Aquamall Water Solutions, Forace Polymers, Jubilant Life Sciences , Satyam Auto, Rockman Industries and many more.
