Today at New Delhi, CII in partnership with USAID-India has launched ‘Indian Heat to Power Alliance’, aiming to improve the operating efficiency of Indian Thermal Power Plants, Mr R V Shahi, Former Secretary, Ministry of Power launched the Alliance. He said that this Alliance will go a long way in facilitating Indian Thermal Plants become world class.
Broadly, Indian Heat to Power Alliance will work with all the stakeholders in the following four areas:
1. Development of Service Providers network
2. Development of Model Thermal Plants
3. Collaborative Research & Solutions Development
4. Information Dissemination
The Alliance anticipates the following benefits:
· Improved efficiency of Indian Thermal Power Plants
· Reduction in GHG Emissions
· Development & adoption of latest technologies & services
· Creation of new market opportunities
The above anticipated benefits will ultimately facilitate Indian Thermal Plants reach global standards in efficiency improvements.
Some of the major utilities including- NTPC, Tata Power, CESC Ltd, Adani Power, Reliance Power and Equipment Suppliers including - BHEL Doosan, Siemens, Bharat Forge & other Service Providers, Research Institutions, Academia, Financial Institutions are part of ‘Indian Heat to Power Alliance’.
Mr N Murugesan, Director General, CPRI; Mr R K Sharma, Director- Operations (Designate), NTPC and Mr Ashok Sethi, COO and Executive Director, Tata Power were present at the launch programme.
Indian Heat to Power Alliance will be anchored by CII through its CII-Godrej GBC, Centre of Excellence on Green Business.
