CII Kerala organized the ‘Convention on Women Leadership’ at Kochi, which was attended by representatives from Corporates, Academia, Faculty, Researchers, CEOs, Analysts, Strategic Planners, Auditors, HR Professionals, Consultants, Business Planners and Students across Universities and Colleges.

Delivering the inaugural address, Ms Leela Samson, Chairman, Sangeet Natak Akademi & Chairperson, Central Board of Film Certification spoke about the wonderful opportunity India as a nation gives its citizens to be who they are.  It is how you balance the explicit with the subtle, that will help you win many battles in life, she said.  Women have always been leaders, as home makers, caretakers of both the old and the young and in numerous other roles. It is in organizations, in decision making roles that women need to lead today. And we need to take decisions only as a woman can, Ms Samson said.

Ms Jennifer McIntyre, Consul General, United States Consulate General opined that leadership is about generating next generation leaders and that is what women should aim to be. Ms Sabriye Tenberken, Managing Trustee, Kanthari International, spoke about her story of how her blindness had shown the way to Kanthari international.
