President of Ukraine Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Indian Industry Ukraine Could be The Preferred Choice for Space Research, Aircraft, Ship Building, Pharmaceuticals, Metallurgy and Tourism Confederation of Indian Industries hosted a business meeting with the President of Ukraine, His Excellency, Mr Viktor Yanukovych along with a high level delegation from Ukraine at Leela Palace, Bangalore here on Wednesday.
 
His Excellency, Mr Viktor Yanukovych said Bangalore can offer ideal investment opportunity as the leading scientific-technical and innovative centre in India. He mentioned that both the countries should increase the turnover at least by twofold and suggested that India & Ukraine should focus more on sectors such as space research, aircraft ship building, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy and tourism. Particular attention has also been paid to cultural exchange and acceleration of contacts between the countries.
 
Mr Satish Reddy, Managing Director & Chief Operating Office, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited welcomed the gathering and urged both the Indian and the Ukrainian Government and Industry to avail the opportunities for bilateral trade, investment and collaboration. Indian Industry is committed to exploiting the untapped potential and expanding economic partnership, said Mr Satish Reddy.

Mr L Krishnan, Chairman, CII Karnataka State Council & Managing Director, Taegutec India Pvt Ltd spoke about the various opportunities both the Countries can tap. He also spoke about the growing interest of Indian companies in Ukraine in areas such as energy, health, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, Information Communication Technology and chemicals Mr L Krishnan, Chairman on behalf Confederation of Indian Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mr Sergiy Prokhorov, First Vice President, Ukrainian League of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs with the aim of expansion and deepening of long term mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the organisations of India & Ukraine.

The Ukranian delegation also suggested that the Visa Procedures in India should be simplified in order to promote the business opportunities between India & Ukraine.
