Career Guidance & Job Fair 2014

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India@75 and Skills Development Mission, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh organised a Career Counselling session and Job Fair on 22nd and 23rd January at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida.
 
The fair saw participation of around 5000 students of ITIs and Polytechnics from six districts of Uttar Pradesh viz Noida, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahar, Meerut, Mathura and Aligarh.
 
There were 8 companies at the fair as recruiting organisation.  The companies who participated at the fair are Hero Motocorp Ltd, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd, SMC Pneumatics Ltd, Uflex Ltd, Jakson Engineers Ltd, Pioneer Automotive Pvt Ltd, Aegis Global, Dominos.
 
As part of the fair, career guidance assistance was also provided to student attending the fair.
 
Speaking at the Inaugural Session, Mr Vikas Gothalwal, Special Secretary (Vocational Education) and Mission Director, UP Skills Development Mission said that Job Fairs should be a regular activity of CII and GoUP's calendar every year. He expressed the need of introducing new ITI trades in line with the industrial demand.
 
Mr A K Jha, Director General, Niesbud congratulated CII and Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for this initiative and touched upon the need for promoting entreneurship.
 
Mr Rajan Navani, Chairman, National Committee on India@75 while delivering the Welcome Address said that while on one hand we need to improve the skill sets of our young population to enhance their employability, we also need to increase the employment opportunities.
