Haryana has the Potential to become Mini Japan – MPs from Haryana

It came out loud and clear that Haryana has the potential to become mini Japan during an Interactive Session with “Members of Parliament from Haryana” organized by CII on 11 August 2017 at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi.

Shri Ramesh Chander Kaushik, Hon’ble Member of Parliament – Lok Sabha (Sonepat); Shri Dharambir Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament – Lok Sabha (Bhiwani – Mahendergarh); and Shri Ram Kumar Kashyap, Hon’ble Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha addressed participants during the interactive session.

On the current challenges being faced in the state, it emerged that both promoting existing industry and attracting new industry can be done simultaneously. During the deliberations, the industry highlighted that Government should pay more attention on law & order, quality of power and connectivity challenges.

Industry and Government should work towards creating more employment opportunities for the Haryanvi Youths, doubling farmers’ income through diversification and focusing on under developed districts and villages of Haryana. The MPs also requested CII to undertake a study for promoting Logistics Hub in Haryana.

Mr Nishant Arya, Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Executive Director, JBM Group apprised the Minister and MPs about the work being done by CII in Haryana in the areas of industrial development, ease of doing business, social sector, Skill Development, entrepreneurship development amongst others. Mr Arya said that CII has been and will continue to support the State in all its developmental initiatives.

CII remains committed to the holistic growth of Haryana. CII through a couple of Job Fairs has offered jobs to around 1500 youths from Haryana in the last one year. Besides, CII members are contributing for several social initiatives through their Corporate Social Responsibility. He further highlighted the work being done by CII through its members in the fields of women & child development, education, healthcare and adoption of villages. Under its Smart Village initiative, CII has adopted village Bhond in Mewat District. The village has been declared Open Defecation Free last year. This year a 5kw micro grid has been installed in the village school.

CII is working closely with various departments of the Government of Haryana to promote and support several Government initiatives.

Mr Jasmohan Singh, Vice Chairman, CII Haryana State Council said that for holistic development of Haryana, that the state should concentrate on agro based mixed development with focus on Food Processing, Tourism, Defense & Aerospace sectors besides manufacturing and services.

The session was attended by over 45 delegates from industry.
