CII released the Industry-led Approach Paper on the Usage of Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Pipes for Potable water, Irrigation and Sewerage Pipeline Systems.
The GRP Pipe market size in terms of value is projected to grow at 3.5% to reach $6 billion by 2025. Major growth in GRP Pipe and the significant demands from end application in water, sewerage, urban planning and industrial use in many sectors create further growth opportunities for industry in India.
The Paper, recently released at the National Conference on Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastics (GRP) Pipes held on 21 August 2018 in New Delhi, is prepared in view of providing recommended practice inputs for successful execution of GRP Pipe system projects with high quality standards.
The standards outlined in the Paper will not only help to nurture the GRP Pipe ecosystem but will help to showcase Indian GRP Pipe Industry’s capacity and capability for successful execution of GRP Pipe system projects, the high-quality standard they maintain, and the mechanisms to drive larger consumption of GRP pipes in several upcoming areas including Smart cities and other urban development activities, water potability, sewerage, irrigation, etc.
