This column by Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII in the Hindustan Times 23 January 2013 issue entitled 'Revive the Growth Momentum' observes that the Budget 2013-14 should identify the critical ingredients of growth and address them through appropriate policy interventions.
Developers and buyers are two sides of the same coin. However, in the Indian markets, for various reasons pertaining to lack of regulation, structured market practices, mandatory statistical back-up etc, the positions have very often not been symbiotic. However, the consumer gets the real estate products because of the developer and vice-versa. So what can CII Real estate, an industry body do to bridge this gap? We thought deeply and decided that mandatory or otherwise, the first step towards bridging this gap was to make more information available to consumers to serve as a guide during the most important and probably the most expensive buy of your life. Through the Economic Times article the author, Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General (CII), makes a case for the government’s responsibility to facilitate land acquisition for the process of industrial development, that he suggests is slowing down due to the lack of land availability.
76th CII Northern Region Business Outlook Survey is a quarterly study conducted to gauge the sentiment in the economy. Earlier, the survey was conducted bi-annually, but from the 74th Survey onwards the study is conducted on a quarterly basis in order to get a more frequent indicator of business sentiment. The current survey gives an outlook on business sentiments for the first quarter of 2011-12 as compared to the last quarter of 2010-11.

Spearheading the Green Building movement in India is the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) part of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
IGBC has launched rating programmes to conceive, design & construct buildings as green buildings. In light of this, IGBC has launched green building rating system for New Construction (Government, Commercial, Institutional buildings, etc), Core & Shell (IT Parks, Malls, etc), Homes and Factory Buildings.
CII Awards & Recognitions
With an objective of seeding green ideas in the minds of young budding professionals and also to encourage new thoughts and innovation in green design, IGBC organises the ‘Green Design Competition’ every year.
Confederation of Indian Industry (Southern Region) has launched the Eighth edition of the "Leadership and Excellence Award in Environment Health & Safety (EHS) for the year 2009" in cooperation with SHRIRAM EPC Limited.
The EHS Award was instituted in the year 2002 and it has been grand success every year and has received tremendous response from the industries in the Southern Region.
