a)      Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, Hon’ble Dy Chief Minister, Government of Punjab has kindly consented to inaugurate the Inaugural Session of the Conference.

 

b)      Mr Ashok Lavasa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India has confirmed to join us & address the gathering at the Inaugural Session of the Conference.

 

c)      Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Power, Government of Haryana has also kindly agreed in principle to join us.

e)      State Governments have also shown keen interest to deliberate at the forum. A specially focused Plenary Session on "Power Sector issues of the North" would be held essentially to address the various bottlenecks being faced and also develop a roadmap for the Northern States. A panel of Principal Secretaries; senior government officials from the Power Departments and industry are addressing at this focused Plenary Session.

 
Description

CII Northern Region organized a Conference on Power Reforms for the North with Theme "Target 24/7 Electricity for All" on 12 October, 2012 at Chandigarh.

This Conference aimed at arriving at a consensus amongst all stakeholders on the issues pertaining to the Power Sector and recommending possible way forward with the end objective of ensuring availability of continuous and reliable power to consumers.
