The tenth edition of the India Innovation summit was held in Bangalore. The 2 day programme started on 8^th August 2014, having more than eminent speakers, more than 25 media houses, Govt. Depts., trade officials, academia and industry delegates participating in the summit. Altogether, more than 550 participants participated in the Summit. The Innovation summit this year had 11 exhibition stalls. “Innovation for inclusive growth " was the theme of 10th India Innovation Summit, which highlighted latest trends in the innovation ecosystems for broader participation in the economic growth across the globe.

The 10th Innovation Summit explores the dimensions of inclusive growth from a practitioner viewpoint and builds the context for eminent panelists to discuss the current state of art and the role of innovation in driving economic growth with wider participation and its impact on job creation.

Inaugurating the 10^th India Innovation Summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bangalore, Chief Minister, Mr. Siddaramiah, announced plans with enhanced measures for promoting inclusive growth through innovation including long term policies for industrial and infrastructure development starting this year. He stated that his government would soon launch a new industrial policy covering five year period starting this year.

“It gives me a great pleasure to welcome all of you this morning to the 10th Edition of the India Innovation summit”- said Mr.Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder Infosys. Mr.Kris also welcomed the honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr.Siddaramaiah, who was the chief guest for this summit.

Planning this event has been a long journey—from the random brainstorming sessions at CII to the official meetings but I have enjoyed every minute of it. Granted, we had no idea when I started planning.  The ideas started flowing immediately, and we jotted them on anything we could find. Of course, we got stuck every once in a while, but we knew we had people to turn to whenever our minds went blank.” said Mr.Sandeep Maini.

Mr.MichealIdlechik, Vice President, Advanced Technology for GE Global Research focussed on the needs of innovation which would help in the actual advancements of Industrial Internet. Innovation in this generation would further give rise to number of innovators and entrepreneurs. Advanced tools would further give rise to higher performance, computing and technology bringing through innovation.

Dr.Bhaskar Ghosh, Senior Managing Director, Technology Delivery, Accenture, said – “Innovation is a new method which will help in harnessing sectors like Education, Health and above all, agriculture. Giving a much awaited concern to the field of agriculture, few districts in North Karnataka have witnessed a major transformation via increased crop production which has benefitted the agents and farmers in collating the useful data and information. Now our country has witnessed a rising wave by providing knowledge for innovation and comprehensive growth.

Dr S Y Quraishi, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India, during his keynote highlighted how the election commission had successfully conducted the biggest human management event in the world involving over 837 million voters, which  was 180 million compared to previous general elections.
