  • Confederation of Indian Industry organised  Marketing Conference with the theme “Brave New World: Rethinking Marketing”.

  • As you are aware with technology now infused into every aspect of commerce, the entire craft of marketing becomes more instrumented, interconnected and intelligent. To understand what marketing will look like in the future, CII organized this conference on 22 July 2014 at Hyatt Regency, Pune.

  • Talking as part of his keynote address Mr Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd  said how We don't manage our Brands, our brands manage us .He spoke about how marketing strategies have to be rehauled to keep pase with the cutomers changing needs and demands.

  • Mr Ninand Karpe MD Aptech Ltd spoke about how social media is proving to be a big game changer for all business's and its the way ahead.

  • Mr Kiran Khalap Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Chlorophyll spoke on branding saying that we usually associate the term "brand " with a product that has a unique consistent and well recognized character. A brand is tested in every interaction , for "branding "one must understand the needs and wants of his customers and prospects. One must do this by integrating his brand strategies through their organization at every point of public contact.

  • Mr S P Shukla  spoke about how many organisations are grappling to keep their  global marketing strategy relevant in an ever-changing global market where customers interests and predictions matter more than ever. Mr Sashi Shankar CMO Idea Cellular Ltd  mentioned how the rules of engagement are changing and changing fast thanks to technological innovations.

  • Mr Pradyuman Maheshwari, Editor-in-Chief and CEO, MxM India said that its time we chase competition and not just the customer to emerge stronger.

  • Mr Gaurav Rathore Commercial Director, AirAsia India spoke on how the travel industry has been changing its game plan to keep pace with the changing patterns from customers. As majority travel transactions go online, digital is the way ahead.

  • The digital age has transformed business at breathtaking speed. Integration  of social media is crucial for the enterprise in the current global market and e-commerce. Being an essential aspect of business strategies , brand recognition and increased revenue , social media is disrupting business and empowering customer in ways previously unimaginable. Digital channels are proving pivotal to how an entire organization competes, innovates and enhances the customer experience. The CII Marketing Conference brought together leaders from the digital world to discuss measurable methodology used to best engage customers, build loyalty and create brand advocates.

  • Talking about data and the importance of big data, Mr Hemant Joshi, Partner Deloitte Haskins & Sells said that with the constant emergence of new data collection technologies businesses are gathering and storing larger volumes of information at a faster rate. Data can be wasted if it isn't interpreted correctly but if implemented effectively it can address the core customer issues faced by an organization. Mr Siddesh Bhobe Business Head - Persistent Systems Pvt Ltd & CEO said that social media alone is not enough . Web analytics data is not alone .And tools that look at just a snapshot in time for a single channel are woefully inadequate. Ms Nitya Bhalla Executive Director Nielsen India, said that ,Marketing Ananlytics , by contrast , considers all marketing efforts across all channels over a span of time - which is essential for sound decision making, effective & & efficient execution.

  • The session saw a gathering of 250 industry representatives and a was very well applauded by industry leaders.

Confederation of Indian Industry organized Marketing Conference in Pune on 22 July 2014, which focused on Brave New World and Rethinking Marketing, Branding, Advertisement, Digital Marketing – Captivating and Staying connected and Big data with the theme “Brave New World: Rethinking Marketing”. The conference was designed to create a forum for the top marketing professionals to come together and create a marketplace for ideas and services that helped companies get ahead in the emerging economy. The conference attained following objectives:

  • To provide an inter-disciplinary forum across different sectors for professionals, industrialists, academicians, researchers and scholars on emerging role and trends in Marketing
  • To voice the issues and concerns emanating from digital marketing landscape and develop an ideal eco-system of advertisers, freelances, designers, corporate houses looking to reinvent marketing strategies
