KNOWLEDGE SUMMIT 2014
HighLights

·    CII Mission on Knowledge was created to make a robust Indian ecosystem that generates economic value through the effective harnessing of knowledge and intellectual capital, within knowledge-based organizations and industries. The intent is to create a better understanding of knowledge management practices, research and practical applications. As better knowledge management practices get instituted within India, the quality and quantity of knowledge being generated and consumed will be enhanced, thereby allowing the accelerated production of economic value stated the Chairman.

·     The new ecosystem for all companies consists of connected flow of information and knowledge within and across enterprise boundaries. Today, information available to an organization is growing faster than organization's ability to use it productively. Increased connectivity (through mobile and internet), social media, cloud, and Internet of things (connected objects and places) are causing a seismic shift in the digital ecosystem, including knowledge management.

·    With all these developments enabling omni- channel access to the enterprise by all its stakeholders, use of big data and connected knowledge from internal and external sources to increase sensing and response will differentiate the winners from the also-rans. Holistic knowledge management is a key driver to ensure that both explicit and implicit knowledge is shared and used across the entire organization stated BCG the Knowledge Partner of the Summit.

·      The role of CXOs with respect to Knowledge Management in a Digital Enterprise is changing to be more customer-centric (digital marketing, big data/ analytics, mobile), more connected (digital collaboration, smart R&D) and more inclusive (i.e., covering the extended enterprise). With the cloud enabling access to best of breed software and infrastructure on a “pay per use” basis, it is also conceivable that future information and knowledge models for enterprises will consist of large systems integrators working with small and large product and solution providers to improve knowledge management and information access across the extended enterprise.

·    The 2014 version of KM India enabled all participants to understand the opportunities and challenges of knowledge management in the era of the Digital Enterprise and appreciate the plethora of solutions available to build competitive advantage. CXOs, CKOs CIOs, practitioners, consultants and academicians will all benefit from the wealth of knowledge that will be shared in the summit.
