Kerala - A State with Huge Potential in the Agriculture & Food Processing Sector
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and Confederation of Indian Industry, (CII) Kerala organised a Food Processing Seminar: Destination Kerala at Kochi today, 28 June 2018 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Kochi.
Mr Atul Saxena, Director, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India delivered the special address during the Seminar and brief overview on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) Scheme. The scheme is expected to benefit 20 Lakh farmers and generate 5 Lakh direct and indirect employments. Mr Saxena also said that these schemes will leverage an investment of Rs.31400 cores. He also mentioned that Kerala got huge potential for food processing and agricultural sector but it is unfortunate to see very less applicants from kerala for the same. Mr Saxena urged the industry members to avail the benefits of the schemes provided by MoFPI.
Wg Cdr K A Santhosh Kumar, Managing Director, Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) also delivered the Special address at the Inaugural Session. Mr Santhosh Kumar spoke about the incentives and schemes that companies can avail while starting business in KINFRA Parks.
