Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in association with APSECM, Energy Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh oraganised a One day National Workshop on “Perform, Achieve & Trade (PAT)” focused on Cement & Thermal Power plant sectors across the states in Visakhapatnam.

The concept of PAT scheme is gaining major importance in India. PAT Cycle-I was envisaged to reduce the SEC of 478 designated consumers (DCs) from eight energy intensive sectors viz. Aluminum, Cement, Chlor- Alkali, Fertilizer, Iron & Steel, Paper & Pulp, Thermal Power Plant and Textile. The overall energy saving targets for PAT Cycle –I was 6.686 Million Tonne of Oil Equivalent (MTOE) by the end of 2014-15. The achievement in PAT Cycle-I (2012-15) with 8.67 MTOE which is about 30 percent over and above the assigned targets. This energy saving translates in to avoiding of about 31 million tonne of CO2 emission.

This workshop covered the topics on Present Regulatory Framework on PAT, ESCerts (Energy saving certificates), PAT pro-forma filling and latest technologies adopted in the industry along with PAT compliance, Case Studies etc.
