"Great scope for collaboration with Asian countries as India moved towards technological advancement and digital transformation" : Shri Naveen Srivastava

There is huge scope for countries like Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to take advantage as India moved towards technological advancement and digital transformation said Shri Naveen Srivastava, Additional Secretary, East Asia, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India while delivering the Keynote Address at the Digital Conference on Leveraging Partnerships through New Age Technologies organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held on digital platform today.

“as we move into the post covid world, there is a strong need to de-risk international supply chains and bring greater resilience through alternative sourcing” said Mr Srivastava. He further said that the technological advances had historically always created growth and improved lives of people and had made the world more interconnected. “The advances in digital and other technologies have led to globalization which has helped in bringing the world much closer. Today, we hear of technological breakthroughs in various fields, whether AI, robotics, IoT, 3D printers, material science or energy storage”. “The accelerated transformation caused by these technologies will boost global output, increase employment and help countries across the world as we recover from the effects of the pandemic”, he added.

Mr Rajan Navani, Chairman, CII’s India@75 Council and Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Jetline Industries mentioned that “when we take Technology as a base for cooperation and regional partnerships, I believe it opens up many windows of opportunities for India to contribute to the Asian Growth story as the world.” He further said that fight against the pandemic had brought various initiatives to the fore including digital infrastructure and had accentuated the need for economies to collaborate in technology intensive industries alongside pandemic led growth in automation of businesses and systems.

Mr Manoj Kohli, Country Head, SoftBank India mentioned that he firmly believed that India’s next industrial revolution was in the sphere of technology led by Digital and other technologies including robotics, drones, renewable energy, electric vehicles, block chain etc.

Mr Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation in his address mentioned that Digital Technology had proved to be a great leveler in recent times and provided greater opportunities for businesses to innovate, adapt and enhance accessibility. He further said that regulatory compliances in the realm of technology would continually to evolve and in fact become stringent.

The event had three plenary sessions focusing on ‘Creating Intelligent Factories by Smart Manufacturing’, Green Technology – Path to Sustainability and ‘Delivering Citizen Services with Transformative Technologies’, in which speakers representing Indian, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese industries presented their views. Senior industry speakers like Mr Naveen Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Electric Vehicles P Ltd, Ms Y J Park, Director, India Korea Centre for Research & Innovation, Mr Ashank Desai, Founder. Mastek Ltd, Mr Vinay Thakur, Chief Operating Officer, National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and IT,   Mr Stanley Wang, Deputy Director General, Taiwan Institute for Information Industry (III),  Mr Nikhil Malhotra, Chief Innovation Officer, Tech Mahindra, Mr David Chang, Head - Business Strategy, Foxconn - MIH Consortium, Mr Vinod Sharma, Managing Director, Deki Electronics among other prominent speakers from leading companies spoke at the event which saw participation from Japan, Korea, Taiwan apart from India.
