CII – Centre for Digital Transformation recognises best practices in the digital arena through the DX Awards

“CII – Centre for Digital Transformation recognises Best Practices in the Digital Arena through the DX Awards”

Committed to the purpose of making Indian Industry globally Competitive, the CII Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT) organised  the 4th edition of its flagship programme the Digital Transformation Best Practices Awards  which  forges a deeper engagement with Industry by recognising some of the  innovative  initiatives being undertaken through digital transformation . The DX Awards recognizes excellence in Digital Transformation (DX) in India and facilitates sharing of information on Best Practices & Technologies.

The DX Awards celebrated inspirational digital growth story of sectors that have leveraged digital and witnessed phenomenal benefits through adoption and use of digital technology . The Sessions at the DX Awards programme highlighted the need for Accelerating DX : An Imperative for Growth .Several eminent speakers from Industry shared their insights and emphasized upon  the need for  Digital transformation  across  sectors for building competitiveness and a Robust Economy.

Dr Gulshan Rai, Former National Cybersecurity ,Co-ordinator  - PMO & Former, Director General , CERT-in said that “ The cyber world is heterogeneous, we need to develop best practices integrated with technology and there is a  necessity for homegrown solutions.” . Dr Rai said  that “ In the digital transformation journey of any organization , the role of technology is  20%, and the rest of contribution is from  the innovative practices, processes, and implementation aspects”.

Shri Alok Prem Nagar, Joint Secretary – Governance, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. Of India said, “ We need more smart villages in the country. There is a need for digital services to be available in the villages of the country.” Shri Nagar in his address shared that “  To drive digital transformation in Panchayati Raj across the country, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has launched eGramSwaraj, SVAMITVA, and E-Panchayat Mission Mode Project”.

Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Founder, HCL & Chairman, EPIC Foundation said that “ MSMEs need to adopt digital public projects for business growth, customer experience, internal systems, and suppliers in a transparent way”. Mr Chowdhry said that  “Sustainability would create newer opportunities for Indian companies, and it would be good to adopt at an early stage”.  

“There is a need for an Ecosystem approach in future instead of the conventional Industry approach” said  Mr Vipin Sondhi, Chairman, CII Mission and Committee on Technology, Innovation & Research and Future Mobility. He further emphasized upon to the need to leverage digital to build new collaborations ,ensure  gender diversity and  real time access to information for quick decision making, as the key areas  to ensure competitiveness.

Mr Vikram Kasbekar, Executive Director, Hero MotoCorp Ltd in his address mentioned that “ Digital has enabled organizations to  understand the  customer behaviour which has led to enormous focus on strengthening  backend operations to ensure that the company is agile and flexible to rise to the rapidly changing expectations of the customers and remain competitive “   

Mr Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation India said that”: While organisations had been gradually adopting digital to integrate and strengthen their systems before the pandemic and accelerated the process during the pandemic, this trend has continued, since organisations have to meet the rising aspirations of their customers  by ensuring a steady supply chain of products”

Mr Vijay Thadani, Co – Chair, CII Centre for Digital Transformation & Vice Chairman & MD, NIIT Ltd,  in his welcome address said that “ Digital has become India’s driving force and digital transformation has become an integral part of business strategy of all organisations. The CII Centre for Digital Transformation played a modest role  through its  various  initiatives such as assessments, capacity building and awareness sessions  including the DX Awards which has provided the right thrust and encouragement to industry as they navigate in their digital transformation journey to build competitiveness”.  

The DX Awards Competition received over 480 entries of which 85  entries  were shortlisted who competed for the honours in Innovative and Most Innovative categories.
