Every year, roughly 5.8 million Indians
die from heart and lung diseases,
stroke, cancer and diabetes. In other
words, 1 in 4 Indians risks dying from and Non Communicable Diseases before they reach the age of 70. This White Paper, released at the 4th National NCD Summit held on 6 October 2016 in New Delhi, explores the present scenario of NCDs, both at the global as well as at the national levels. It also brings out the broad framework of regional NCD roundtables, their objectives, and looks back upon the key outcomes of the previous NCD Summits held.
