

Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the ‘Made In India’ series of exhibitions, endeavour in providing assistance in increasing India's competitiveness in world markets. The series of shows held overseas have consistently presented Indian Industry’s high quality goods, services and technologies in varied industrial sectors, to the world. |
The first Made in India show held in Mauritius in 1995, was a highly successful and rewarding experience for all its participants and ever since then the show brings to the world the best of Indian technology, services and products, year after year. Organized by CII, in association with the Indian Embassies and High Commissions, these shows have paved way for newer, larger and better export / import markets for entrepreneurs and large conglomerates alike. |
The event, apart from the business and commerce, also focuses on portraying the rich Indian cultural heritage, exhibited through cultural events, food festivals etc. All this, with the numerous business seminars and delegations, which provide a platform for business interaction, add to the ‘Made In India’ experience. |
CII, under the “Made in India” banner, has successfully showcased Indian products and services, twice each in Mauritius & Sri Lanka, thrice in South Africa and four times in China and once each in Afghanistan, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Maldives, Myanmar, Tajikstan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom |
• The Twenty Fourth “Made in India” show was organized in Jakarta from 7- 10 August , 2009 at Balai kartini Exhibition centre . The event was being inaugurated by Mr, Jyotiraaditya Scindia , Minister of state for Commerce and Industry ,Government of India and his counterpart the Minister of Industry of Indonesia , H.E . Mr Fahim Idris |
• The Third “Made in India” show was organized in Cairo from 25 – 28 November 2007 : Cairo,. |
• The twenty second “Made in India” show was organized in Beijing – consecutive fourth time – from 8 – 11 September 2006 to celebrate the India-China Friendship Year. Mr Kapil Sibal, Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, India jointly with Mr Wan Jifei, Chairman, CCPIT, Mr Cheng Jin Pei, Vice Minister of Science & Technology, China inaugurated the Made in India show where INDIA-TECH was the theme pavilion. |
• The twenty first “Made in India” show was held in Johannesburg, South Africa from 16 – 20 November 2005. 68 companies participated at the show. Mr. Carl Niehaus, Chief Executive Officer, Gauteng Economic Development Agency, Johannesburg along with Mr S B Pal, Indian High Commissioner to South Africa inaugurated the exhibition. |
• The twentieth “Made in India” show was organized in Shanghai, China from 17 – 20 October 2005. 49 companies participated at the show. Mr P Chidambaram, Minister of Finance inaugurated the show. |
• The nineteenth “Made in India” Show was held in Colombo from 22 – 26 September 2005. 54 companies participated at the show. Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa, the President of Sri Lanka inaugurated the show. |
• The eighteenth “Made in India” Show was held in Beijing, China from 1 – 4 December 2004. 53 companies participated at the show. The Show was inaugurated by Mr Wan Jifei, Chairman, CCPIT and Mr Nalin Surie, Ambassador of India to China. |
• The seventeenth “Made in India” Show was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 11- 14 August 2004. 69 companies participated at the show. The show was inaugurated by the Commerce Minister of Thailand and the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Mr E V K S Elangovan. |
• The Sixteenth "Made in India" show was held in Yangon, Myanmar , from 19 – 22 February 2004. 67 companies participated at the show. The show was inaugurated by Brig-Gen Pyi Sone, Minister of Commerce, Government of the Union of Myanmar. The Prime Minister of Myanmar along with its entire cabinet also visited the exhibition for over 45 minutes. |
• The Fifteenth "Made in India" show was held in Tehran, Iran from 3 – 6 December 2003. 39 Indian companies participated at the Show. The show was inaugurated by H.E. Mr Mojtaba Khosrow Taj, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Government of Islamic Republic of Iran. |
• The Fourteenth "Made in India" show was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from 14 - 16 November 2003. The show was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India and the President of Tajikistan. |
• The Thirteenth "Made in India" show was held in Beijing, China from 16 - 19 October 2003. The show was inaugurated by Mr Arun Jaitley, Minister of Commerce & Industry. More than 100 companies participated at the exhibition and a separate pavilion for Small & Medium Enterprises was a great hit. |
• The Twelfth "Made in India" show was held in Istanbul, Turkey from 16 - 18 September coinciding with the visit of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The show was inaugurated jointly by Mr S S Mukherji, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Government of India. 40 companies participated at the exhibition which was coordinated in just 35 days. |
• The Eleventh "Made in India" show was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 27 - 31 May 2003. The show was inaugurated by Prof G L Peiris, Minister of Enterprise Development, Industry Policy & Investment Promotion & Constitutional Affairs, Government of Sri Lanka. 82 companies participated at the exhibition and a separate pavilion for Small & Medium Enterprises was a great hit. |
• The Tenth "Made in India" show was held in Kabul, Afghanistan. Over 125 companies and organisations from 40 diverse sectors participated in the exhibition in an area of over 2500 sqms. |
• The Ninth “Made in India” show was held for the second time, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over 90 companies and organisations from 25 diverse sectors participated in the exhibition in an area of 2000 sqms. The show, visited by over 11000 visitors, was inaugurated jointly by Mr Alec Erwin, Minister of Trade & Industry, South Africa and Mr Omar Abdullah, Minister for Trade & Industry, India. The sectors of healthcare, drugs & pharmaceuticals, IT software & training, Sharing of experiences for the development of entrepreneurial skills, Projection of Karnataka state as an IT province of India, projection of Indian systems of medicine & homeopathy were on focus through various seminars conducted alongside the exhibition. |
• The eight Made in India show was held in Male, The Republic of Maldives, from 27 – 30 March 2001. The fair attracted participation from 40 companies representing a wide range of industrial and consumer products. The fair was inaugurated by Mr. Hassan Sobir, Minister for Tourism, Republic of Maldives and Mr. Omar Abdullah, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Government of India. |
• The seventh “Made in India” show which was held in Dar-es-Salaam,Tanzania in 1999 was jointly inaugurated by Mr Jakaye Kitwate, Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Tanzania and Mr. Ram Jethmalani, Minister of Law, Justice & Company Affairs, Government of India. 75 exhibitors took part from 26 sectors covering an area of 3000 sqms. US$ 20 Million worth business was generated and actual business of US$ 5 million was conducted. |
• The sixth “Made in India” show in Johannesburg in 1998 was inaugurated by Mr Trokyo Sexwale, Former Premier Gauteng, Republic of South Africa. Around 100 companies from 30 sectors covering an area of 5000 sqms., participated at the show. Business worth US$ 57 million was generated. It marked the beginning of a strong economic relationship between India and South Africa and opened up a whole new arena of possibilities for trade and development for mutual benefit . |
• The fifth “Made in India “ Show in Manchester, UK, in 1997, was inaugurated by Lord Clinton – Davis, Minister for Trade, UK and Mr Murasoli Maran, Minister of Industry, Government of India. 65 exhibitors took part in this exhibition which covered an area of 1000 sqms. |
• The fourth “Made in India” show in Mauritius, in 1997, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, saw sales and contracts worth US$ 10 million, with over 85000 people visiting the fair. 36 companies participated at the show. |
• The third “Made in India” show in Nairobi, Kenya, in August 1997 was inaugurated by Hon’ble Daniel T Arap Moi, President of Kenya and attended by B B Ramaiah, Minister of Commerce, Government of India. It saw business enquiries worth US$ 35 million and was visited by over 31,000 people. 70 Exhibitors took part in this show, which was spread over an area of 3,000 sqms. |
• The second “Made in India” show in Tokyo in May 1996 projected a small display of Indian Industry capabilities both in the traditional and non- traditional sectors. |
• The first Made in India show was held in Mauritius in July 1995. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Mauritius, H.E. Rt. Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth. 50 companies took part in this show covering 2,000 sqms of space. |
