PSEs constitute an important part of the economic development in the country. They play a key role in capital formation, employment generation, foreign exchange earnings, enhancing exports and geo-strategic reach, tax revenue generation and in meeting government schemes and policies. Prime Minister’s Vision 2022 for India exhorted PSEs to help in making of “New India” through changes in technology and processes and adopt a 5-P formula – Performance, Process, Persona, Procurement and Prepare.
In this context, the report ‘Can the Indian PSEs Enhance Their Geo-Strategic Reach’ aims to find a way forward to address two issues by the year 2022:
How will Indian Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) maximise their geo-strategic reach?
How will Indian PSEs minimise the country’s import bill?
It also tries to understand how the industry, through organisations like CII can work together to achieve the above objectives.
It was released at the PSE Summit on 18 November 2019 in New Delhi.
