Technology Exports Development Organisations (TEDO)

Technology Export Development Organisation (TEDO) is a unique Public – Private Partnership project between Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Government of India.  The main objective of TEDO is to promote Indian technologies (Technical Know how/ Technology intensive Products, Services and Projects).

TEDO started in the year 2002, since its inception, it has been able to create awareness for the organization as a facilitator organization for technology exports from India.  TEDO has served approx. 830 organizations (both Public and Private, R&D, Academic & Industry) in terms of promoting there strengths in the international market.

TEDO Phase – III started in 2007, The objective of this phase is to enhance “Export-Competitive Indian SME” by providing capability building (techno-managerial-marketing) support to select sectors of Indian SMEs and also by facilitating export of technology-intensive products, processes and services to European and other market, through a set of trained (training is part of the project) intermediary consultants.

Target Beneficiaries:

 

·         Agro/ Food Processing

·         Auto Components

·         Casting and Forgings

·         Tools, Dies & Moulds

·         Process Plant and Machinery

·         IT Enable Engineering Services

 

A group/cluster of 20-25 SME units from the above in each sectors would be finally benefited from this project. Hence the minimum target SME beneficiaries would be 120 by March 2010.

·         Capability Building to Enhance Export Competitiveness.

·         Market Information (Focus on EU countries)

·         Promotional Materials (Profiles, Virtual Exhibition in TEDO website and Multimedia CD).

·         Participation in National and International Exhibitions & Organizing Buyer- Seller Meet.

·         Facilitating SME’s though its trained Consultants in meetings and negotiations.

   Knowledge partner:

 

TEDO joined hands with Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing countries (CBI), an agency of Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Govt of The Netherlands. CBI has been working in the area of capacity building and promoting exports from Developing Countries over last 30 years. 

The core competencies of CBI are Market knowledge, Product and production improvement, Quality Control, export marketing and management and market entry. For disciplines beyond CBI core competencies, CBI cooperates with various other specialized organizations. CBI is the knowledge partner for TEDO project.
