IAF in collaboration with Ministry of Defence has taken an initiative to set up an academy for the resettlement process of the Air Warriors. The IAF along with CII will take this initiative forward to prepare Air Warriors for resettlement with intent:

1. To assess the skills/behavioral gaps and subsequently design a development initiative for the Air Warriors which would enable them to come up to speed before taking up jobs outside the Indian Air Force.

2. To provide the necessary support in facilitating the placement of these Air Warriors outside the IAF (private and public sector)

CII will train Airmen due for retirement in the near future on skills and capabilities required by the industry. To begin with, three focus sectors including Aviation, Telecom & Information Technology and Defence Production, have been identified on the basis of existing skills, capabilities and strength of the airmen.

The training by CII would focus towards bridging the gap between existing skills possessed by the airmen and those required by the civil industry. However, the most unique feature of the project is that in addition to training, CII will also facilitate suitable placements for the personnel in the industry.
