Workshop on Defence Procurement Procedures : 7th Jul2019 at Visakhapatnam
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) along with Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) jointly organised the workshop on Defence Procurement Procedures today in Visakhapatnam.
The workshop was addressed by Rear Admiral Pritam Lal (Retd.), Principal Adviser, SIDM. During his address he emphasised on how to do business in Defence. He explained the overview of the Indian Defence Sector and shared with participants the opportunities for the industry in Defence . He also explained to the participant the size of Defence Market, Landscape of Indian Defence Industry and long term perspective on business in Indian Defence Sector. He also briefed about DPP 2016, categorisation of Procurement Schemes, procurement functions from RFI to Contract.
Rear Admiral Pritam Lal also elaborated on Defence Procurement Procedures and categorisation of defence procurement schemes.
Mr. J Srinviasa Raju, Vice Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam and Convenor, CII AP Defence & Aerospace Panel during his address to the participants emphasised on participation and commitment of local industry in the indigenisation process in the Defence Sector.
Rear Admiral Sanjay Datt, Chief Staff Officer (Technical), Eastern Naval Command while delivering his special address spoke about various naval projects and opportunities for the Indian Industry, especially MSMEs. He also spoke on the Indian Navy indigenisation plan 2015-30.
Mr. K V V Raju, delivered the special address about defence industry in Andhra Pradesh and assured full commitment of members participation in the indigenisation process and urged members to take part in the defence activities of CII –SIDM.
A separate interactive session with Navy was organised on Revenue Process for Indigenisation and requirement of Indian Navy under revenue route. During the interaction Presentation on Make Process / procedure and Indian Navy requirements under Make –II and Technology Development Fund(TDF) and requirement under TDF was also made by officers from Navy.
During the Session the requirement of the Indian Navy under revenue route and make II projects were shared with the industry, besides this Technology Development Fund (TDF) process and requirements under TDF were also shared.
