From the initial ‘charity begins at home’ approach to becoming a critical factor in the sustainable development of the nation today, CSR in India has had a long and eventful journey over the years.
The CII Subcommittee on CSR and SD Chaired by Mr. Vimal Wakhlu, Chairman and Managing Director, TCIL, published a CSR Compendium Transforming Lives through CSR, which charts the course of CSR in 38 (thirty eight) Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in India and chronicles the history of their unstinting efforts in the service of the nation and the people.
It would be interesting to read through, as the ‘mandatory’ directive regarding CSR is meant for profitmaking CPSEs but even loss-making ones are continuing with CSR activities, which is a reflection of how much CSR is a part of the philosophy of CPSEs.
The CSR Compendium- Transforming Lives through CSR is the first of its kind as it turns the spotlight on the CSR activities of CPSEs over the last seven decades and also acknowledges and salutes all the CPSEs for their role in nation building and for discharging their corporate social responsibility role with due diligence over the years.
It is a priced publication and for more information please contact:
