Active role of industry and Investment in Human Capital to accelerate India’s Journey to “Viksit Bharat” by 2047
The session “Reimagining India: Dialogue with Young Leaders” at the CII Annual Business Summit 2025 brought together the young Member of Parliament who discussed their aspirations, the challenges before their constituencies and how they reimagined development for a rising, aspiring and young India.
Shri Pushpendra Saroj, Member of Lok Sabha (SP), while lauding honorable, Prime Minister’s vision of “Vikisit Bharat 2047” and “Net Zero 2070” for India, stressed on the importance of industry and human capital in delivering these targets. He pointed that youth is the spine of the economy and to bridge the unemployment gap, we can think of investing in the right sectors like – AI, semiconductor, robotic, green economy and linking these sectors under “Skill India” mission or “Make in India” mission for creating a faster growth trajectory for India.
Smt Malvika Devi, Member of Lok Sabha (BJP) while briefing on the transformation that her agrarian dominated constituency - Kalahandi has witnessed in the past years, urged industry to set up operations in Kalahandi so that the people of her constituency have ample employment opportunities and are not forced to leave their place and go out to work in other areas. More companies coming to Kalahandi will bring in more infrastructure development and prosperity to the constituency.
Shri Sujeet Kumar, Member of Rajya Sabha (BJP), speaking on reimagining India stated that it is the “Vikisit Bharat 2047” which our Prime Minister has envisioned for, and the journey we have embarked on is to make india a developed nation by 2047. Today we are the largest democracy on earth and the 4th largest and fastest growing economy. Further, with a massive human resource of more than 70 crores Indians under 25 years, I am so optimistic that nothing can stop India, whose time has come, and I have the utmost conviction and confidence that the next 20 years belong to us, emphasized, Shri Kumar
Ms Iqra Chowdhary, Member of Lok Sabha( SC) pointed out that India is one of the youngest countries in terms of population and investment in the youth of this country is crucial, as they are the architects of the future of the country. Pointing on the inequalities in the opportunities in the rural areas, she stressed that investment in human capital is important to unlock the actual potential of India. She also highlighted the need for awareness on the various policies made for the people and their effective implementation so that the benefits from the policies trickle down to the last person.
Shri Sagar Khandre, Member of Lok Sabha (INC) emphasizing on building trust with the people, stressed the need for more engagement and awareness of various skills and professional streams available to rural youth and getting them job-ready by developing the right kind of skills for ensuring their employability. He also stressed that youth should take an interest and participate in political discourses.
The discussions highlighted the various opportunities and challenges in bringing women, youth and other social sectors into the mainstream and exposing them to growth opportunities, such that no one is left behind in the journey of Vikisit Bharat 2047.
Mr Rajiv Memani, Presedent Designate, CII and Mr R Mukundan, Vice President CII, co-moderating the session, shared that with the energy and power of India's youth and the right motivation from all of us we can be rest assured that we will be a happy and vibrant nation and get its rightful place in the global arena.
