Technology and IPR Facilitation Services

Considering the urgent need of regional level technology and IPR facilitation requirement across the country, and to provide help and guidance to industry and researchers community, CII opened up a new vertical on IPR with a dedicated IPR division working for assisting stakeholders on IP Policy advocacy and IP service needs over the years. CII-IPR division over the last decade has emerged as one of the pioneer in spreading IP Culture in the country through its presence in New Delhi, IP Facilitation Centre in Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Centre (TNTDPC) in Chennai, Gujarat Knowledge Application & Facilitation Centre (GKAFC) in Gujarat, and Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre’s (IPFCs) in Indore, Gandhinagar and Mysore. IP Facilitation Centre in Hyderabad has been established in the year 2000, as a one stop shop for Intellectual Property Promotion as a unique model in the country. The center is country’s first IP Facilitation Centre offering end to end IPR facilitation services to all stakeholders across the country. It has recently completed almost 19 years of excellence in IP facilitation services and has emerged as one of the nodal agencies in the country for Promotion and Protection of GI products in state of AP, Telangana and Country. It has facilitated filing of more than 28 GI products since Pochampally being the first GI in textile sector. The Centre emphasizes on creating & promoting an effective Intellectual Property Ecosystem in the State through Conferences, Training Programs and providing Counseling, Advisory & Facilitation services including drafting, filing and prosecution of Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs, Copyrights, Geographical Indications, and other related services. It has played a vital role in building an IP ecosystem among Industry, Academia, R&D and Government of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. The state being the Pharma capital of India with a strong hub of software Industry along with world class R&D Institutes makes it a prime destination for Innovation and IPR driven investments and it has been playing a key role in this unique set up. IPR PROTECTION FACILITATION The center has facilitated more than 1200 plus IPR Service requirements (from search – analysis – drafting -filing) across the State.
