Launch of CSR Project in Mizoram
Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, MLA and Adviser to the Chief Minister, inaugurated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for groundwater rejuvenation and water supply enhancement in Darzo Village. Supported by Bharat Forge Limited and facilitated through the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the project will be implemented on 1.93 hectares of land and executed by Young Indians (Yi) Mizoram, the youth wing of CII. This is the first such CSR project undertaken by Young Indians in India.

Speaking at the launch, Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga thanked Bharat Forge for its continued support to Mizoram’s CSR initiatives and appreciated the efforts of CII Mizoram in attracting CSR investments to the state.

Dr. A.S. Leena Deshpande, Vice President and Head – CSR, Bharat Forge Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable and impactful CSR initiatives. She noted that the Darzo project is designed to strengthen water conservation and benefit both present and future generations.

Pu Lalramchhana, Village Council President of Darzo, welcomed the initiative, stating that it would improve water availability for villagers while supporting forest conservation efforts.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between Bharat Forge Limited, CII Foundation, and the Village Council of Darzo, formalizing their partnership for the implementation of the project. The initiative is expected to enhance water security, environmental sustainability, and community development in the village.
