B2B & B2G Thai & UAE Delegation, Assam
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a series of Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings during the visit of a high-level delegation comprising leading logistics companies from Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Guwahati from 15–18 June 2026. The visit was aimed at exploring new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and strengthening trade and logistics linkages between Northeast India and key international markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The delegation called on the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam and held comprehensive discussions on the State's vision for transforming Assam into a major logistics, trade, and investment hub for Northeast India. The meeting highlighted the Government's continued focus on strengthening infrastructure, improving ease of doing business, and leveraging Assam's strategic location as the gateway to Southeast Asia under India's Act East Policy. The delegation also held detailed interactions with the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, where discussions centred on the State's infrastructure development, multimodal logistics ecosystem, industrial growth, and emerging investment opportunities.
CII also coordinated sector-specific meetings with senior officials of the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC), Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), Tea Board of India, Spices Board of India, and other key institutions. In addition, the delegation engaged with representatives from more than fifty industries across sectors including tea, agri and food processing, logistics, manufacturing, exports, infrastructure, and trade.
These interactions provided a valuable platform for direct engagement between the international logistics service providers and industries from Northeast India. The discussions focused on understanding the logistics capabilities and requirements of the region, identifying opportunities for collaboration in freight forwarding, warehousing, multimodal transportation, cold chain logistics, and cross-border trade facilitation, and exploring solutions to improve supply chain efficiency.
