India’s rapidly growing waste sector is transitioning from conventional waste management towards a circular, resource-efficient economy, driven by policy reforms, sustainability commitments and the need for innovative waste-to-worth technologies. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is playing a key role in accelerating this transition through industry collaboration, technology adoption and investment facilitation.
This report highlights the key outcomes of CII’s Annual Mission on Waste-to-Worth Technologies to Sweden (21–25 September 2026), which explored Sweden’s best practices in waste management, resource recovery, circular economy and sustainable infrastructure. It captures the Mission’s key findings and recommendations, including opportunities for India–Sweden technology partnerships, joint research, pilot projects and investments, and outlines a roadmap for sustained collaboration through a proposed CII India–Sweden Waste-to-Worth Platform.
The report was released at the CII Mission on Waste to Worth Technologies to Sweden, held on 21st – 25th September 2026 in Sweden.
