In the year 2007, Confederation of Indian Industry,Tamil Nadu brought out a special publication on 101 successful first generation entrepreneurs of Tamil Nadu and projected their success stories to inspire hundreds of others. This Publication is intended to be a celebration of the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu.
The objective of this publication is to:- Highlight the enabling institutional environment and the entrepreneurial fervor, passion and potential in Tamil Nadu.
- Secondly, through these narratives, inspire the youth of Tamil Nadu to expand their horizons, tread the path less traveled and to participate in the journey of entrepreneurship.
The story of entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu is also a story of diversity. While reading these success stories we encounter kaleidoscope of experiences from entrepreneurs young and old, men and women, from urban and rural areas, working in a variety of sectors. Some are the stories of struggles against odds. Others are strategic masterpieces.
This is not THE book of entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu. Neither is it a compilation of the best entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu. It is merely a book that transgresses the tip of the iceberg of innovative activity in the state.
