The Storm in a Tea Cup is a compilation of select cases that were presented during the first Teachers Day Competition organised by CII Coimbatore Zone. Though this is just an outcome of the competition but we are sure all the readers would appreciate that there has been huge work that has gone behind this publication.
The cases cover most of the functional areas - strategy, operations, finance, marketing, human resources, etc. These are not 'arm chair' cases but are based on hard data collected from various industries who accepted to become part of this CII initiative. Some of the industries have been open to being identified, while certain others preferred to remain anonymous. However, their participation and contribution is well documented by the extent of information and issues shared with the case writers. The case writers have exhibited the right level of restraint, not digging too much into delicate areas, at the same time bringing out the necessary ingredients of the issues underlying the case. This is important from the viewpoint of students who get a ring side view of these complexities. The contributions of all the industry owners/executives, case writers and the college management who made this possible are well appreciated.
