The CII-Deloitte Report details the present status of Higher Education in India with a focus on Southern India and was released at the CII National Higher Education Conclave held on 29 -30 November, 2013 at Coimbatore.
The report aims to highlight the major concerns of higher education institutions - specifically in the southern states - and the challenges that need to be addressed at different policy, process, and control levels. The report also includes an in-depth analysis of the present policies and it's impact on the higher education sector in India in the future. It also provides snapshots of the performance of all the southern states and UTs in the higher education sector.
The report also intends to project the concerns and challenges faced by the promoters / administrators of higher educational institutions in India and highlights the areas where improvement and support is required from the government and regulatory bodies including issues like enhancing quality and quantity of higher education, issues of governance & policies, support for academic & physical infrastructure, and greater financial resources etc.
