Confederation of Indian Industry (Eastern Region) has been actively involved in creating a road map for the environmental sustainability in West Bengal. The Confederation (CII) through various initiatives, has tried to raise environmental awareness amongst its members as well as common public and for this purpose, a number of seminars, and workshops were organized to disseminate knowledge on environmental responsibilities and also, dedicated forums were created in the area of water, energy and green building to promote and improve the current level of awareness as well as compliances.
As a part of these initiatives, CII (Eastern Region) in association with the Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal released a vision document on ‘Green West Bengal - Vision 2022’ against the backdrop of the ‘Climate Change Conference 2014 : Vulnerability Assessment and Developing Mitigation Framework’ organized by CII on 16 September, 2014 at Kolkata.
