CSR has gone through many phases in India. The ability to make a significant difference in the society and improve the overall quality of life has clearly been proven by the corporates. Not one but all corporates are bringing a change in the current social situation in India in order to experience an efficacious and enduring answer to the social woes. Partnerships between companies, NGOs and the government should be facilitated so that a combination of their skills such as expertise, strategic thinking, manpower and money to initiate extensive social change will put the socioeconomic development of India on a fast track.
In alignment with the recent amendments in the Companies Act, CII Eastern Region along with its member companies is actively engaged in CSR initiatives and is supporting and encouraging other companies to take up CSR activities. CII membership has played a pivotal role in adopting and promoting CSR in their organizations.
The strong Commitment of the Members of CII Eastern Region has resulted in creating a strong foundation for taking forward the CSR initiative.The CSR Compendium 2016 captures the best practices of the CII members in the Eastern Region in the area of CSR.
