CII with support from the Diya Kumari Foundation, in association with its knowledge partner Kamtech Associates Pvt. Ltd, released a study titled ‘Economic Development & Investment Opportunity Study: Sawai Madhopur 2014, Rajasthan’. The report was released at the CII Rajasthan State Council Meeting held on 18 July, 2014 at Jaipur.
The report has classified investment opportunities under various heads. These are in manufacturing (Agriculture, Floriculture, Post-Harvest Processing, Agro & Food Processing, Milk & Milk Processing, Home Care Herbal Hygiene Products, Power Generation & CDM Projects, Natural Herbal Products & Medicine, Textile Segment, Construction and Electronics Items & Manufacturing); service and hospitality industries (Tourism, Education Sector, KPO/ICT Services, Research & Development, Handicraft & Traditional Craft, Sports & Leisure, Medical & Health Services and Transport & Logistics Services) and trade sector.
Apart from being on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Sawai Madhopur has an excellent rail and road network and is known for its tourism and heritage. The study envisaged mapping of the local resources, meeting with stake holders and developing an action plan for overall development, growth and profile of investment areas. A list of projects and select project profiles are detailed to serve as a ready reckoner for prospective investors. The study is expected to serve as an important milestone in the overall economic development of Sawai Madhopur in the years to come.
