This document is a visioning exercise of the Nizamabad District which has an enormous potential, which is not yet tapped. The report is primarily prepared with the objective to enhance Nizamabad’s contribution to the development of the state by making best use of its inherent strengths and also more importantly with a roadmap to bridge the existing gaps.
There is indeed a clear need for tier-II and tier-III cities/districts of Telangana to be developed into centres of enhanced economic activity. Nizamabad with its proximity to Hyderabad and high economic activity also produces skilled and semi-skilled labour. It has a unique advantage over the other tier-II and tier-III cities and has a high potential to emerge as a major hub for economic activity in Telangana.
The report identifies that Nizamabad has immense potential to become a hub for the agro based industry, food processing and IT Sector.
