“New Dimension in Facility Management” : CII’s Facility Management Summit and Exhibition
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised the inaugural edition of exihibition cum Conference on Facility Management on Friday, 19 October 2012 at Orchid Convention Centre, Pune. The Theme for this year was “ New Dimension in Facility Management”.
First edition of exihibition cum conference: FM India Pune, targetted especially for Facility Management Services in India, which has gained huge importance in effective functioning of businesses today. The exhibition and Summit was inaugurated by Mr A S Sawant, Joint Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) along with other dignatories like Mr Pradeep Bhargava, Chairman, CII Western Region & Director, Cummins Generator Technologies and Mr Ashwini Malhotra, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council & Managing Director,Weikfield Foods Pvt Ltd.
Mr Pradeep Bhargava, Chairman, CII Western Region, while speaking at the Summit said that the arena of Facility Management has now taken a paradigm shift from operational to strategic and tactical alignment in an organisation. He also stated that in today’s world, facility managers not only maintains the real estate property, they actually take over the non – core areas of business completely – from conservancy, to security, installations, maintenance… helping in running a business in a risk free environment with savings in costs.
While addressing at the summit Mr A S Sawant, Joint Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation said that the event was very well organsied and that it is a great effort towards inviting the facility management companies for a thought provoking leadership discussion.As guardian and local authorities, we would like to commend CII for this innovative initiative.
Mr Ashwini Malhotra, Immediate Past Chairman,CII Pune Zonal Council mentioned that this is indeed a super intiative by CII in organising a Facility Management Exhibition and Conference at Pune which is the hub of the manufacturing and IT sectors. He was of the view that Facilities management is the co-ordination and integration of people, process, place and environment - the three ‘P’s. It is basically combining work place, deputing people to the work place and combining the processes to give a solution to facility management model.
The leading companies like Schneider Electric India, Godrej Securities Limited, Updater Services Pvt Ltd, ISS Integrated Facility Services Pvt. Ltd., Karcher Cleaning Systems Pvt Ltd, CBRE, Eureka Forbes Limited, Time Technoplast Limited, Georgia, Rossari Biotech, Socomec Ups India Pvt Ltd, Roots Multiclean, Godrej & Boyce, Cyronics Instruments Pvt Ltd (BOSCH), Mahindra & Mahindra, Revachem , Nilfisk- Advance India Ltd, Trane India Limited, Excel International, Technocrats Hygiene Systems, Bird Edge, Orgami India, Monarch Ergonomics India Pvt Ltd., Cease Fire Security Systems, Farmland Rainwater Harvesting Systems Ltd showcased their new technologies.
